Phineus, a small grey and white cat Pebbles, a grey and white pit bull staring up at the camera
PHINEUS: **ADOPTED!**
Adult male domestic short hair

Phineus was returned to CCAD recently with a urinary blockage and bladder close to exploding. He needed emergency medical care to survive! We didn’t hesitate to get Phineus the care he needed; and now this over-the-top affectionate young male cat is stable, doing well on his prescription food, and taking his new job as Office Cat seriously! Phineus is now ready to find his FOREVER home! This amazingly-sweet young adult cat will need a home where he can continue on his prescription food diet to prevent future blockages. He is super easy-going, loves laps, loves children and other cats, and would fit into any home willing to work with his medical condition. Please call us at 410-643-9955 for more information about Phineus!

PEBBLES:
Adult female pit bull

Pebbles is a four year old blue pit bull who is absolutely starved for human attention, eager to please, and affectionate. She just had her LAST LITTER OF PUPPIES in March of 2015, after being used as a breeder her whole life. She’s been a great mom and now deserves to find a great home!

To apply to adopt Phineus or Pebbles, please click here! Please print and distribute the following flyers to local establishments so that PHINEUS and PEBBLES can find their forever homes this month: Cat of the Month flyer, Dog of the Month flyer.

Tree of Life Pet Sanctuary: Phase One!

12348110_10206348214116618_2526632748151938020_nPhase 1 of our Tree of Life Pet Sanctuary goal is COMPLETE! Now watch us GROW!

December 18th was settlement day for the 5.5 acre site near Chesapeake College. We are so very grateful for all who are helping make our dream of becoming Tree of Life Pet Sanctuary a reality. We want to publicly thank Scott Saunders, who has been our Sanctuary project manager and has driven this entire process; and the Wentzels, without whom we would not have realized this dream as soon!

Over the next two months, we will be working to repair the farmhouse to transform it into our interim office and adoption center until the new facility is built. We will need YOUR help and support to get this done; including volunteers to help us with labor and donations of items needed for repairs. Work started on the farmhouse with our New Year’s Weekend Fix Up, but there is still a lot of work left to be done. We will update this post with needed items and work events; for now, our Sanctuary wish list includes:

    TOLS10

  • Building materials:
    • 6 (4’x8′) sheets of 3/8″ cement fiber board
    • linoleum flooring
    • drywall
    • screen doors
    • insulation
    • paint and painting supplies
    • interior trim

  • Kitchen cabinets
  • Revolution flea treatment for cats and dogs
  • laundry detergent
  • dryer sheets
  • a floor cleaning machine
  • lamps
  • light bulbs
