Our August Cat of the Month is MARLO! **ADOPTED!**

Marlo is a young adult cat who loves to play and cuddle! He came to us from an emergency clinic, in need of medical care and rehabilitation. He’s now fully recovered and ready to find his forever home.

Our August Dog of the Month is CHARLIE! **ADOPTED!**

Charlie is a young (~2 yrs old) male Boxer Terrier Mix who lost his home when his owner was called up to serve in the Armed Forces in Afghanistan. He’s high energy, playful, and loves to run. He has a heart of gold, but plays hard, so no small kids.

Please print and distribute the following flyers to help our pets of the month find their forever homes: August Cat of the Month, August Dog of the Month.

Sweet Boy Cheddar Fund: Donations Needed!

Meet Cheddar!

image001image002

At around 1:00 p.m. the afternoon of July 18th, our office manager, Debbie, heard some noise outside and opened the door to find this little orange kitten sitting on the doorstep. He looked at her with his beautiful eyes and said “Please don’t leave me; I need your help!” She then saw his tail, which was mangled.

Cheddar was taken to the Emergency Vet in Annapolis. The vet there thinks that “Sweet Boy Cheddar” either was hit by a car or his tail got caught in a fan belt. Cheddar had surgery early Saturday morning, 7/19. His entire tail was amputated.

8/1 Update:

Cheddar had his sutures removed yesterday. He weighed 2.53 pounds. He is now scheduled to be neutered and have his second distemper and rabies shot the week of August 17, 2014. He will then be ready to go to his “loving forever home”!

8/22 Update: Cheddar has been adopted!

URGENT!! Foster Families Needed!

foster2 We are in DESPERATE need of foster families for kittens and dogs! We cannot continue rescuing dogs from kill shelters if we have nowhere to put them. Please consider opening your hearts and homes to a dog in need. We currently have several dogs waiting at Dandyland Pet Care Center in Centreville for a foster or forever home, including the dogs pictured (Bo & Luke, our July Dogs of the Month) and 2 senior Terrier Mix sisters (Miki and Mikalya), who should not have to spend their golden years in a kennel! Please click here to see a full list of the dogs waiting at Dandyland to be fostered or adopted. Please consider whether you can help us!

Please fill out the following forms if you’d like to foster for us: volunteer form and foster application.

Thank you!
